Although developed for racing, the C-Type was also available to the public. The aerodynamic body was designed by Malcolm Sayer, the same man who gave us the Jaguar XKE a decade later. A total of 52 examples were built.
The C-type was successful in competition, winning the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1951 and also in 1953.
